Two years after hitting theaters for the first time, Sonic is back in a new adventure in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 which will hit theaters starting Friday, April 8, 2022. This time the blue hedgehog will compete with his arch nemesis, Knuckles, who featuring Idris Elba as his voice actor.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Storyline
Along with Tom (James Marsden) and Maddie Wachowski (Tika Sumpter), Sonic (Ben Schwartz) has settled in Green Hills and is determined to prove himself as a true hero. But as far as his intention is to uphold justice, Sonic is also more involved in chaos.
While Tom and Maddie are taking a break from their role as surrogate parents to Sonic and traveling to Hawaii to attend the wedding of his sister, Rachel (Natasha Rothwell), things get even worse with the appearance of Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his new partner, Knuckles the Echidna (Idris Elba), a red hedgehog who has a warrior character but is very short-tempered and gullible.
Dr. Robotnik returns to Earth after being imprisoned on the Mushroom Planet in search of the Emerald Master who can grant him unlimited power. To prevent this evil intention, Sonic who is supported by Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) decides to travel to find the emerald first.

I never expected a movie to be this much fun. There were many references from Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Adventure in this movie. They also used some of Sonic’s voice lines from the first movie in this movie. Idris Elba was a perfect pick for Knuckles. Overall, great movie! (30 March 2022).
Such a great movie with many many references to the franchise. Levels, games, music and great character representation. A funny unexpected scene made this experience even better than it already was. Each character feels in place and everything came off amazing! Worth it, will binge watch the 2 movies soon…. Sonic fanbase is always faithful and loyal, thx Sega (GSE) (30 March 2022).
