Despite the film’s release at the end of May, Top Gun: Maverick recently held a screening in Los Angeles, United States. Film critics present were reportedly giving positive reviews to the sequel to the 1986 film.

Not just those in attendance. Rotten Tomatoes also applauded Top Gun: Maverick’s page and gave it a high score on the Tomatometer. They believe that this film is worth waiting for and watching on the big screen.

Tom Cruise has gained critical acclaim for his latest film, Top Gun: Maverick. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the sequel has a 96 percent Tomatometer score as of May 13.

Several reviewers deemed Top Gun: Maverick a film worth the waiting to be seen on the big screen. Mark Kennedy, film critic for the Associated Press, called Top Gun: Maverick a “good sequel.”

There are thrilling scenes in Top Gun: Maverick, according to critics. Additionally, Miles Teller also contributes to the emotional story and solid performance. Maverick’s partner, the Goose, died in the original film, and his son plays his son in this film.

However, most of the credit belongs to Tom Cruise as the main character. According to Entertainment Weekly’s Leah Greenblatt, Tom Cruise owned every part of the film.

According to initial plans, Top Gun: Maverick would release in June 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Paramount Pictures had to postpone its release several times. Now, Top Gun: Maverick will debut in the United States on May 27.

Continuing his role as a Navy pilot who defies authority in Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise plays Pete Mitchell, an arrogant aviator who never gets promoted.

Maverick, codenamed Pete Mitchell, is responsible for training a group of young fighter pilots for a special mission.

Despite being older, Mitchell’s skills have not diminished. Behind the cockpit, stunning techniques of flight are seen in some scenes.

Besides Tom Cruise, other notable actors include Miles Teller as Bradley, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly, and Ed Harris. As in the first film, Val Kilmer will reprise his role as Lieutenant Tom Kazansky, Iceman.
