A League of Their Own, Series

The series detachment from “A Class of Its Own” evokes the light-hearted spirit of Penny Marshall’s popular feminist classic, while broadening the perspective to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of becoming pro baseball players. Taking a deeper look at race and sexuality, the series follows the journey of a whole new cast of characters as they find their own way onto the field, both in and out of the league. Nick Offerman will be seen as the manager of the Rockford Peaches, while “Broad City” star Abbi Jacobson will play one of the athletes. (Also: These are the best sports dramas according to critics)
