After a long wait, Marvel Studios has finally announced the cast for the new film adaptation of Fantastic Four, scheduled for release in July 2025.
The Fantastic Four, a legendary superhero team, first appeared in Marvel comics in 1961. The team members gained superpowers from exposure to cosmic radiation. The team includes Reed Richards, or Mister Fantastic, who can stretch his body; Sue Storm, or Invisible Woman, who can become invisible and create force fields; Johnny Storm, or Human Torch, who can fly and emit fire; and Ben Grimm, or The Thing, who has a hard and strong body.
This film will be the fourth adaptation of the Fantastic Four on the big screen. The previous films, released in 2005, 2007, and 2015, were not well received by critics and audiences. This film will also be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the world’s largest and most successful superhero film franchise, which has produced more than 20 films and several television series since 2008.
Marvel Studios officially announced the Fantastic Four cast via its official Twitter account. Several famous actors will play the main roles in this project. Among them is Pedro Pascal, who will portray the character Reed Richards, or Mister Fantastic. Pascal, best known for his role in The Mandalorian series, is expected to bring a strong presence to this iconic character.
In addition, Vanessa Kirby has been confirmed to play the character Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman. With extensive experience across a variety of genres, Kirby is expected to bring the required depth and complexity to this role.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn also join the project, with Moss-Bachrach playing The Thing and Quinn as the Human Torch. Their presence is expected to bring freshness and new energy to the Fantastic Four team.
The film will also introduce a new enemy for the Fantastic Four, namely Doctor Doom, one of the most popular and dangerous villains in Marvel comics. Doctor Doom will be played by Dan Stevens, best known for his roles in the Legion series and the Beauty and the Beast films.
The film will be directed by Jon Watts, who also directed the films Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. He is known as a director who can combine action, humor, and interesting characters.
The response from fans and the Marvel fan community to this announcement has been overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed their excitement on social media, showing their enthusiasm to see this new adaptation of the legendary superhero team.
